Brazilian hairstylist Viktor I has developed three exclusive looks for L'Oréal Professionnel for the SS16 season. With the warm weather on its way, there's no better time but the present to reveal them!
Viktor I's short straight bob with bangs for L'Oréal Professionnel
To show off the model's chocolate brown color, Viktor I styled her hair into a super straight bob with slightly rounded bangs. To soften the severity of the look and control frizz, he added a bit of Dual Stylers Liss and Pump Up styling gel from Tecni.ART by L'Oréal Professionnel – the final result was a 1920s-esque bob with lots of movement.
Viktor I's French hair for L'Oréal Professionnel
French beauty seems to keep inspiring people all over the world! First there was French brown hair and now there's 'French hair.' This 'French hair' style invented by Viktor I has a 70s vibe to it with bold bangs and loose waves that were created with the product Hollywood Waves Siren Waves Cream from Tecni.ART by L'Oréal Professionnel and a blow-dryer. This look just screams cool!
Viktor I.'s curly bob for L'Oréal Professionnel
The curly bob continues to grow in popularity with each passing day, proving that it's a look that's here to stay, especially for the Spring/Summer 2016 season. It's adored by fashionistas and designers alike for its ability to soften facial features, and for its volume (it's even more voluminous than the wavy bob!). To create the style Viktor I used a small amount of Dual Stylers Bouncy and Tender cream from Tecni.ART by L'Oréal Professionnel and then a light misting of Infinium hairspray, also by L'Oréal Professionnel.
Exclusive Q&A for Hair Trend News: 5 Questions for Viktor I
Why did you decide to become a hairstylist?
VI: My mom was a model and actress and I was born in Angola during the war. She died when she was only 24 years old, and I was 6. Growing up I would look at other women and say to myself, ''I want to make them as beautiful as my mom!'' because she always looked so pretty and put together. At first I didn't realize I needed to become a hairstylist to do this, but ever since I have become one I have been very happy to live out what I have always wanted to achieve.
What inspires you?
VI: I get inspired everywhere I go. When I walk down the street, look at a tree, a work of art, the news... For me, styling hair should make people's lives simpler and make them happier. This very philosophy is currently very 'in' right now and it's such a great thing: if we're happy and smiling we can wear whatever we want!
Out of the three looks that you created, which one was your favorite?
VI: The curly bob, because I'm from Brazil and I love curly hair! Curly hair is starting to become popular again – texture and volume are huge right now. Styling products, especially powders, are also helping us create 'dry curls', which are different and new. They're less shiny and voluminous but perfect for a woman who is looking for something innovative!
In your opinion, what's the biggest trend for SS16 (in terms of cut, color or style)?
VI: Many haircuts this summer will have bangs. Color-wise sun-kissed highlights will be really popular. We're also going to continue to play with the whole sombré and ombré looks and focus mainly on three shades: cappuccino, honey and ivory. A huge trend will be to mix warm and cold colors together.
What's the best hair advice you can give someone?
VI: If a woman wants to be a real trendsetter and look her best, then she needs to trust her hairstylist! [laughs] And please, whatever you do, never try to cut your hair by yourself!
