As you already know, wavy hair is in this summer! However rather than style your hair in the traditional beach waves, why not take a retro approach and try out this seventies blowout instead? We've broken it down step-by-step for you.
Step one: Perfect the middle part
One of the key elements of the seventies blowout is the middle part. It's very important for the style to look symmetrical (you want the waves to gracefully cascade down both sides of your head), which can only be achieved with a center part.
Step two: Get layers
If you truly want to be able to pull off this style, then we recommend booking an appointment with your hairstylist to get layers put into your hair (if you don't have them already) as well as long curtain bangs. Your stylist will be able to determine the cut that's best for you and help the waves – and your bangs - fall the way you want them to when you style them yourself at home.
Step three: Master the styling technique
In the 70s big hair was really popular, so most of the blowouts of the time were very voluminous. For a 2016 modern approach we advise keeping some of the volume (but not too much!) by applying a texturizing product like Volume Lift from Tecni.ART by L'Oréal Professionnel before blow-drying your hair. Next, use a curling iron with a big barrel to create the curls, and then apply a dab of Hollywood Waves Siren Waves from Tecni.ART by L'Oréal Professionnel to your waves to add definition, shine and bounce.
