2018 has seen probes launched towards the sun, as well as missions to Mercury and Mars. But here on Earth our mission is a little simple: to try the space bun trend before the year is out. One small step...or two?
Double trouble space buns
Space buns, aka double buns, first landed on our planet in the 1990's. And, as any true beauty trend, they're back in cyclical fashion after nearly thirty years. This duo of buns are cute and feminine, with a little extra-terrestrial flair.
How to create space buns
Space buns are infinitely easy to do. Simply flick your (dry) loose hair upside down, separate into two equal-sized sections, and tie into two buns with elastics. For bigger versions, tease the lengths of the hair a little before creating the buns.
Looking after loose ends
Don't worry if a few sections of the hair fall loose, this look is a carefree one that doesn't mind the occasional flyaway. If, however, your hair does have a tendency to launch into space, a hairspray like Air Fix from Tecni.ART will keep your buns in place. A few bobby pins at the back can also help sections from falling loose, especially if you have shorter lengths at the back.
Because they're so easy to create, there's really no excuse not to try the space bun hair trend – quick, while you've still got time!
