Every year we feel the same nagging reminder as fall arrives: It's time to change our look. To break this slightly depressing routine, we suggest you "recycle" your hairstyle and summer hair color. Let's break it down into what to keep and what to leave behind in order to stay on track for winter.

Forget it: the wet, wavy look

Give back to the sunny beach what belongs to the sunny beach. For the winter months, we're leaving behind the wet-look beach waves we wore all summer... Rediscovering them again next year will be all the sweeter.

Keep it: slick hair

While slicked-down hair has been having a moment of glory in the sunshine, this wet look with the hair pulled towards the back can also be worn just as well in winter. Graphic and grungy at the same time, it gives your look a jealousy-inducing and refined silhouette. Quick, stock up on those wet-look hair gels!

Forget it: pastel hair

While pastel-colored hair (pink, lilac, pale green and even sky blue) looks radiant in the summer sun, it tends to fade rapidly in the bluish light of approaching winter. To avoid shade fade, but keep an original hair color, opt for darker or bolder shades.

Keep it: hair contouring

If you're looking to change up your look this fall, try hair contouring. We're sure you've heard of 'contouring' before in terms of makeup, but now a new technique called hair contouring exists and it can give you the appearance of having a different face shape. Highlights are strategically placed in your hair to create intricate shadowing which will give your face (and features) the optical illusion of appearing slimmer or more defined. Only your stylist will be able to create the desired effect, so book an appointment today, you won't regret it!

Keep it: the 1920s bob

The 'bob' comes in many shapes and sizes, but the 1920s version remains a classic. The perfectly defined large waves keep within the 'wob' or wavy bob trend that is currently still in style, and the short cut gives it a boyish touch, striking a perfect balance between casual cool and Hollywood glam.
