At the salon, there are so many hair colors to choose from, and just as many names: bronde, splashlight, ombré... As hair color jargon increases, it gets more complicated! Stop tearing your hair out and check out these explanations provided by Hair Trend News: all the most on-trend colors you need to know.

Advancements in technology and the variety of different styles have lead to the appearance of more and more hair color inventions. These last seasons, trends have been leaning in favor of bicolor looks. Sombré, ombré, bronde, dip-dye, splashlight, rainbow hair... it's easy to get lost! Here's a illustrated guide to the latest color trends in 2015.

Ombré Hair

Ombré hair consists of lighter tips throughout the hair, following its layers. This dark-light separation although obviously visible, is blended into the hair, creating a summery, festival-ready "XXL roots" effect.

Sombré Hair

Sombré hair is ombré's subtler, more natural-looking little sister. The difference between colors is less obvious, and more symmetrical, with very slight layering and gentle lightening. The result is radiant, almost as if we were back at the beach...

Dip-dye

Dip-dye can be seen as the 'ancestor' of sombré and ombré hair. The contrast is very marked between the dark root section and the light tips, and the separation between them is almost linear. The result is bold and graphic, lending itself to color experiments. To pull it off, a dip-dye look requires confidence.

Bronde

Bronde is the new generation of color: hybrid and illuminating. For those who don't like the 'roots' effect of ombré , sombré and dip-dye, while also hesitating between brunette and blonde, it's the ideal compromise. Only a few layers are very slightly lightened, giving subtle depth, neither warm nor cool, to your hair.

Rainbow Hair

Rainbow hair is, as its name would imply, a series of rainbow colors across your hair. Whether you choose all pink, purple, blue or green, just the tips colored, or mix several shades all over, the mermaid effect (or unicorn, depending on your preference) is a safe bet. One word of advice: take care of your locks to maintain their fiery fierceness!
