Braided crown vs. romantic bun

Looking for a princess-like hairstyle to lift your spirits and transport you to a faraway land on those cold and dreary fall days? The braided crown and the romantic bun are both great options – the only thing left to do is to figure out which style you prefer!

The braided crown

The hairstyle: The braided crown can be created in two ways. You can start the plait at the hairline, or just make a low braid and wrap it around your head. Both versions will give you a gorgeous final result and frame the face beautifully!

The style: This style is inspired from traditional Slavic hairstyles. It's perfect for medium-length or long hair and you can make it special and unique by adding accessories, like hair jewels.

What the editors say: You don't need to spend a fortune on a real crown – you can create your own with your hair! Also keep in mind that you don't need to make the style look perfect and neat. It can be worn loose and slightly messy, for a rocker chic vibe.

The romantic bun

The hairstyle: All of the hair is loosely brushed towards the back of the head and then tied into either a low or high bun. A few strands are left down to delicately frame the face and give the hairstyle a relaxed feel.

The style: The romantic bun, or chignon, is a great wedding hairstyle and can be created on long hair or even lob-length hair. It is very feminine and slimming for round face shapes.

What the editors say: The romantic chignon is a classic style that's been around for a long time, but it doesn't have to be boring! There are plenty of ways to modernize it and make it trendy for the Fall/Winter 2016-2017 season. For example, for a wet look effect, add some gel or hairspray like Shower Shine by Tecni.Art from L'Oréal Professionnel before creating the bun. The final result will be a neo-romantic, super stylish hairstyle!
