The top knot is a stylish bun that is trending this Fall/Winter 2016. Follow Hair Trend News's tips and tricks to pull off the look!
Nourish your hair
In order to achieve any hairstyle, it's important to have healthy hair. When your locks are well nourished they look shinier and can hold styles really well. Apply a hair mask at least once every 7-10 days. If you notice your mane is in need of a little extra attention from a professional, ask you hairstylist about Pro Fiber, an in-salon personalized hair treatment.
Use a texturizing product
Second-day hair is what helps hold a top knot in place. However, if you can't wait a day to tie your locks up into the style, use a texturizing product like Wild Stylers Crêpage de Chignon Hairspray by Tecni.Art from L'Oréal Professionnel. It will add that volume and texture you need!
Secure the top knot with bobby pins
The top knot doesn't need to look perfectly coiffed, but a few bobby pins will help the hairstyle stay in place. Create a high ponytail, twist it around itself until your hair is in a tiny ball shape and then secure with as many bobby pins as it takes (just make sure to hide the bobby pins inside of the bun, otherwise it won't be very aesthetically pleasing!). Spritz on hairspray for extra hold and to add a bit of shine.
