3 ways to rock a center braid

The center braid is one of this season's hottest styles, and is actually quite versatile – take these three versions for example. From reverse French braids, to classic braids or clever wraparound twists, let's take a look at what the center braid has to offer...

Reverse French braid mohawk

You can never have enough of a good thing, so why stop your center braid at the top? This look involves reverse French braiding your hair so that the plait appears to "sit" on your crown, following the curve of your head down into a braided ponytail. Because the reverse French braid involves weaving the outer pieces of hair under the middle section (instead of over), the result is a chic take on the mohawk: edgy yet put-together.

Sleek center braid

Here we see a classic example of the center braid, offering a modern take on the center part and drawing attention to the face.

Before starting your braid, ensure the hair is perfectly smooth and shiny by applying a few drops of Mythic Oil's Huile Initiale to dry hair, which nourishes the hair fiber and flattens cuticles. The Mythic Oil collection also offers a shampoo and conditioner for thick and thin hair types, the perfect duo for your haircare routine.

Braids, braids and more braids!

Give your center braid an extra, unexpected element by incorporating a pair of cute mini side braids, topped off with a pretty wrap braid around the base of the ponytail.

Get texture and hold while also preventing your braids from slipping out of place by spritzing on some lightweight hairspray like Infinium 3 by Tecni.ART before and after styling your braids. The Fresh Dust dry shampoo, also from Tecni.ART will help soak up excess oil on the lengths and give a modern, matte finish.
